Alleged Terrorism Financing: Court Overrules Ex-AGF Malami, Son's Lawyers, Asks Prosecution to Begin Trial March 10

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday overruled a motion by counsel to a  former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulaziz Malami. Praying the court to strike out the case of alleged terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms brought against the duo by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The court, instead, okayed the prosecution to begin the trial of the nation's former chief law officer and his son, on March 10.

DSS had on February 27 arraigned Malami and his son, Abdulaziz, before the court for the alleged offences, in the course of which the presiding judge, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, granted the former AGF and his son bail and adjourned the matter to Wednesday March 4.

When the matter came up on Wednesday, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Rotimi Oyedepo, informed the court that his office recently took over the case from the DSS, and needed some time to familiarise itself with the facts of the matter.

At that point, counsel for the Malamis, Adedayo Adedeji, SAN, prayed the court to strike out the matter because the prosecution was ready for diligent prosecution.

Responding  the DPPF said that the request to strike out the case by counsel to the defendants was premature and urged the judge to ignore it.

After taking arguments, Justice Abdulmalik fixed March 10 for the DPP to begin the trial.

The Court had on February 27 admitted Malami and his son, Abdulaziz each to N200m bail
with two sureties each of whom must own landed property either in highbrow  Maitama or Asokoro districts.

Justice Abdulmalik had said that the title of the property must be deposited with the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Court along with valid international passports.

The sureties were also ordered to depose to an affidavit of means and submit their two recent passport photographs to the court.

Besides, Malami and his son were also ordered to submit their international passports and recent passport photographs to the court.

The Department of State Services (DSS) had arraigned Malami and his son, Abdulaziz on a five-count charge bordering on terrorism and illegal firearms possession.

In the charge, marked, FHC/ABJ/CR/63/2026, filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, Malami is also accused of refusing to prosecute suspected terrorism financiers, whose case files were handed to him while he served as the AGF and Minister of Justice.

Malami and Abdulaziz are, equally accused of warehousing firearms in their residence at Gesse Phase II Area, Birain Kebbi LGA, Kebbi State without lawful authority.

The DSS accused Malami in count one of the charge, with  knowingly abetting terrorism financing, while the ex-AGF and his son are charged in counts two to five, with unlawful, possession of a Sturm Magnum 17-0101 firearm, 16 Redstar AAA 5720 live rounds of cartridges and 27 expended Redstar AAA 5'20 cartridges, contrary to and punishable under relevant Sections of Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022 and Firearms Act, 2004.

The Nigeria Police Force Liaison and Consultant to the United States Embassy in Nigeria, Mr. Mogaji Busayo, has described the appointment of Tunji Disu as Inspector General of Police by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a significant step toward accelerating reforms within the Force.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Busayo congratulated the new IGP, noting that his emergence comes at a critical time when the nation’s security architecture requires renewed operational strength and administrative discipline.

“IGP Disu’s appointment is both timely and strategic,” Busayo stated. “His extensive background in operations and administration aligns perfectly with the present needs of the Nigeria Police Force.

The President’s characterization of him as an operational police officer is not only a recognition of his field expertise but also a clear mandate to strengthen operational readiness across the country.”

He further stressed the need for enhanced collaboration between the Police and key stakeholders to improve efficiency and restore public confidence. “This moment calls for deeper synergy between the Force and critical partners to promote intelligence-led policing, improve accountability, and build sustainable public trust,” he added.

Busayo also commended the recent inauguration of the State Police Implementation Committee by the IGP, describing it as a bold step toward structural reform and decentralized operational effectiveness. “The initiative reflects proactive leadership and a clear commitment to repositioning the Force to respond effectively to evolving security challenges,” he said.

Recalling previous professional engagements with the IGP, including collaborative efforts on the Special Intervention Squad supported by the United States Government, Busayo emphasized that reform-driven partnerships remain crucial to capacity development, specialized training, modern equipment acquisition, and institutional strengthening.

He reaffirmed his commitment to mobilizing credible local and international partners to support ongoing reform initiatives, expressing optimism that under Disu’s leadership, the Nigeria Police Force would record measurable progress in professionalism, accountability, and service delivery.

Good morning…
My friend sent me a video on Sunday in his shop where his cctv camera captured his nwa boy making incantation crossed lines on his wall of the shop he is building.

According to him, this boy has served 4 years out of 6, so he was shocked as he had no reason to mess up his reputation now.

When he sent me the video, I had no idea of what it implied, thinking it was just an ordinary playful markings on the wall. So I had to send it to a traditionalist who confirmed it was not a playful act, but an evil prayer.

yesterday, I summoned the boy an asked him that I’m observing some funny lines on the wall and if he was aware of who’s marking these things on the wall? He denied that he wasn’t aware of anything.

I advised the owner of the shop to take the matter up with police, and write a petition against him, of which he disagreed: his reply was “ his family will think I want to use this playful act to discredit him as to why I don’t want to settle him well when the time reaches”

The situation is dicey. I’m assisting him as I’ve also reported the matter to a prophet I know, and they’ve started a 3 days cleansing prayer to cleanse all the boy has done.

According to the prophet, he said the boy has been doing something like this right from the very first Day he came into his business, and that they need to send the boy away so the cleansing will be successful.

Right now, my friend is depressed. He is still in shock that the boy he feeds and clothe and put shelter under his head will make evil incantations against him.

Just as confused as he is, we’re also confused on this matter, so I express myself here to you all here on how to handle situations like this…

Thank you

COAS: Nigerian Army Will Defend the Ballot, Begins Early Security Strategy for 2027

As the nation sets its sights on the 2027 general elections, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has moved to allay fears of electoral violence by assuring citizens of the North Central region of a secure environment to exercise their civic rights. During his operational tour of Benue State on Tuesday, the COAS emphasized that proactive measures are already being activated to deter criminal actors and prevent any disruption of the democratic process.

"Let there be no misunderstanding: the Nigerian Army is fully committed to the protection of democracy," Lt Gen Shaibu stated. "We are not waiting for 2027 to arrive before we act. We are working now, today, to ensure that when the time comes, every citizen can cast their vote without intimidation, without fear, and without the shadow of violence hanging over them."

The COAS stressed that the ongoing military operations across Benue, Nasarawa, and Taraba States are intrinsically linked to the stability of the upcoming elections. He explained that by dismantling armed groups and criminal networks now, the Army is effectively denying spoilers the opportunity to exploit the electoral period for chaos. He assured that security architecture is being reviewed to address potential flashpoints, ensuring that troops are strategically positioned to respond to any threat to the polls. "The ballot box is sacred, and we will defend it with everything we have," he affirmed.

One Abuzaidu Abubakar Yari, disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday, March 2, 2026.

In a shocking revelation from Kebbi State, a young boy has been arrested for allegedly pretending to be deaf for nearly a year in order to secretly gather and relay information to kidnappers.

Crime / Las Vegas FBI And ICE Storm Las Vegas Casino -

In a shocking twist that stunned Las Vegas, a massive FBI and ICE operation unfolded inside one of the city’s most iconic casinos. What began as another night of flashing lights and high-stakes bets quickly turned into a real-life crime drama when federal agents stormed the casino floor in a coordinated raid.

Witnesses recall how laughter and music fell into stunned silence as
FBI and ICE agents in tactical gear surrounded the gaming tables, arresting dozens of suspects allegedly tied to an organized Venezuelan crime network. This nationwide law enforcement operation—led by U.S. Customs, ICE, and the FBI—has already resulted in over 8,700 arrests across multiple states, making it one of the largest crackdowns in recent years.

Authorities say the suspects are connected to money laundering, smuggling, and transnational criminal activity stretching far beyond Nevada. The Las Vegas raid marks a clear message from federal agencies: organized crime in America’s entertainment capital won’t go unnoticed.

Crime / America And Israel Vs Iran
« on: March 05, 2026, 11:31:14 am »
I have never seen a war with this kind of strange sense of humour like the current one. It is funny and at the same time very serious. 🌍⚔️

I want to use this opportunity to beg those who know Sheikh Gumi and anyone talking trash about America and Israel — please go and warn them. Avoid these fellows. I said it before: tramadol is not the same thing as peppermint. ⚠️

The Iranian navy reportedly fired shots at American military personnel in several Middle Eastern countries. They might not have activated their air defence systems, and three American personnel were killed. America responded: “Oh, you have a navy that can shoot?” They destroyed the naval headquarters, sank about 20 ships, destroyed submarines in dry dock, and paralysed the Iranian navy.

How can the whole navy of a nation be paralysed like that?

They eliminated Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader. These Israelis, these people don't even have respect — somebody called Supreme leader — they just struck him and compressed everything. No respect for Sabbath, no respect for Ramadan, no respect for Lent.

Iran appointed a new defence minister; before they finished cleaning his office, they deleted him. It is like if they want to appoint you, just run to the cemetery and wait there. 😳

Somebody commented that Iranian leadership now expires faster than milk.

Then there was the council of clerics — 88 of them — meeting to vote in the parliamentary building. These Israelis waited until they finished voting and were counting the votes. Then they flattened the building. 88 eliminated. So now where will the next meeting hold? 🤦‍♂️

Israel what is your problem? 🤔

This is why electronic transmission is good.  If they had done Zoom meeting from their separate houses, the building would not have been flattened.

It is fascinating, sad, and intriguing at the same time.

I watched a report that Israeli intelligence and the CIA hacked traffic lights in Tehran and monitored movements of security details. They tracked where vehicles were parked. When they saw certain cars gathered in one place, they concluded their target was there. They were not expecting to be struck in the daytime or on Sabbath.

We think we are using the internet. They are the ones using us. I even heard about Claude for the first time, an analytical tool that can process massive data quickly. So they feed all these data into it and run simulations. This war has gone beyond equipment. It is intelligence, technology, patience, planning, precision. 🛰️💻 War has gone beyond ogbunigwe.

I was imagining — give Israel six months in some of our forests with kidnappers and criminals wearing army uniforms of people they eliminated. They would wipe them out. Something is wrong somewhere.

Odumeje said that if you come from a technologically backward country, no matter your grammar or education, you're an illiterate. I tend to agree with him.

People kidnapping anyhow in Nigeria, Government wants to pay ransom — don’t try that with Israel. They will wipe you out.

So, Gumi, I dey warn you again. You no even get bunker, you just dey talk okpata against Israel and America. If una know any of dem, make una warn dem oh! These people do not play.

A word is enough for the wise. ✋

Crime / Again I Ask — Where Is Evans?
« on: March 05, 2026, 11:29:24 am »
Again I Ask, Where Is Evans? — APC

By all accounts, the name Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, once sent cold waves through Nigeria’s commercial corridors. He was the face of a brutal kidnapping enterprise that terrorized wealthy families and exposed the frightening sophistication of organized crime in the country.

Today, however, a different kind of question is echoing in quiet corners of public discourse:

Where exactly is Evans?

From Fear to Silence

When operatives of the Nigeria Police Force paraded Evans before cameras in 2017, it was more than an arrest — it was theatre, victory, and relief rolled into one. Nigerians watched as the man once described as untouchable sat in custody, confessing to operations that had yielded millions in ransom.

The message at the time was clear: the long arm of the law had finally caught up.

Court proceedings followed. Convictions were secured. The public, though still shaken by the scale of his crimes, took some comfort in the apparent finality of justice.

Then — silence.

The Questions No One Is Asking Loudly

In recent years, updates about Evans have grown scarce. No regular briefings. No prominent follow-ups. No consistent public reminders of the status of one of Nigeria’s most notorious kidnapping figures.

To be clear, there is no verified official report that Evans has escaped custody or been secretly released. Available records indicate he remains within the Nigerian correctional system.

Yet in a country where public trust is often fragile, silence can be as loud as scandal.

For many observers, the concern is not conspiracy — it is transparency.

Why This Matters

High-profile criminal cases do not simply belong to the courts; they belong to the public memory. Evans’ reign of terror was not a minor footnote. It was a national trauma that exposed deep security vulnerabilities.

When such a figure fades almost completely from official conversation, it raises legitimate civic questions:
   •   Is he still serving his sentence as ordered?
   •   What is the current legal status of his multiple convictions and appeals?
   •   Why has public communication on the case thinned so dramatically?

These are not sensational questions. They are accountability questions.

The Bigger Security Picture

Nigeria’s kidnapping crisis did not end with Evans’ arrest. In many parts of the country, the crime has evolved, decentralized, and in some regions, intensified.

Security analysts quietly admit that while Evans’ capture was symbolic, the structures that enabled large-scale kidnapping were never fully dismantled.

Which makes the public’s lingering curiosity even more understandable.

Until Official Word Changes

As of now, the most credible information remains that Evans is in lawful custody within the Nigerian correctional system. There is no confirmed disappearance.

But public institutions must remember a simple truth: in high-stakes cases, information vacuums invite suspicion.

Final Word

Nigeria does not need rumours. It needs clarity.

Until consistent, transparent updates become the norm, the question will continue to surface in whispers and headlines alike:

Again I ask — where is Evans?

He looked like an ordinary man, but behind that face was a monster the world would never forget.

Luis Alfredo Garavito, also known as "The Beast of Colombia", is considered one of the most terrifying serial killers in history. For years children disappeared across Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, while authorities struggled to understand who or what was responsible.

When he was finally captured, the truth was far more horrifying than anyone imagined. How did he manage to evade capture for so long? What led to his eventual arrest and why is his case still considered one of the most disturbing in criminal history?

In this video, I break down the chilling story of The Beast of Colombia.

Residents of a community in Ondo State have claimed that suspected kidnappers were mysteriously subdued after stepping onto land believed to have been fortified with traditional charms.

According to locals, the village head hunter reportedly performed Yoruba “juju” rituals on parts of the land as a protective measure against criminal elements troubling the area.

Villagers alleged that a suspected Fulani kidnapper who entered the area suddenly became weak and fell asleep shortly after stepping on the land, which they believe was spiritually fortified to trap intruders.

The unusual incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many residents describing it as evidence of the enduring role of traditional beliefs and security measures in rural communities.

While the claims have not been officially verified by security authorities, the development highlights growing concerns over kidnapping and banditry affecting communities across parts of Nigeria. Local leaders have continued to call for stronger security presence to protect residents and farmlands.

A young mother and teacher in Imota, Ikorodu, is staring at a possible life sentence after a series of dramatic and contradictory accusations in a child defilement case that has left many questioning the fairness of the justice system.

Mrs Rukayat, a 3-month-pregnant class teacher at the time of the incident, has maintained her innocence from day one. Yet she now finds herself as the sole accused in a matter that has dragged on for over four years, with all other initial suspects discharged.

The nightmare began on October 20, 2021, when the mother of a 3-year-old pupil, Aduke, arrived at the school in tears. She claimed her daughter had refused to allow her to wash her private parts after returning home from school. When pressed, the little girl allegedly said her classmate, Toluwani, had inserted a pencil into her.

The matter was immediately reported to Mrs Rukayat and the headmaster. The teacher, herself a mother of one and heavily pregnant, insisted the allegation was impossible. “Female and male pupils sit far apart in the classroom,” she explained. “Even if I missed anything, my assistant and the nanny were right there. There wasn’t even a single male teacher in the entire school.”

The following day, Aduke’s father rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital. Doctors confirmed a small perforation in her ****. Angered, the father attempted to arrest the boy, Toluwani, but police officers at the station quickly intervened. They pointed out that Toluwani was much younger, smaller and frailer than Aduke, making the act physically impossible.

Instead of pursuing that lead, police arrested both the headmaster and Mrs Rukayat. The officers allegedly forced them to write statements admitting to participating in the crime. The pair refused. It took the intervention of the school owner to secure their bail.

The teacher and headmaster were later charged with negligence. While in detention, Mrs Rukayat suffered a miscarriage after what she described as days of torture and starvation.

Further police investigation eventually cleared the teachers and confirmed their account. With Toluwani ruled out, the case should have ended. But Aduke’s father insisted it proceed to court.

That was when the accusations began to shift dramatically.

First, the father claimed Aduke had changed her story: it was now the school owner who stripped and defiled her. Police quickly established that the owner had no office on the premises and was rarely present. He was released.

Next, the father said it was the school bus driver who committed the act when Aduke was the last child on the bus. Investigations again proved this false – Aduke was never left alone with the driver, nor was she ever the last pupil to be dropped off.

The matter eventually reached the Magistrate Court in Ikeja. The court demanded that the father produce the torn uniform and stained pant he claimed to have seen. He could not. He stopped attending court.

For months, the case went cold.

Then an NGO stepped in with what they called a “forensic interview.” A GBV report suddenly emerged claiming Aduke had “finally recalled” the truth: it was her pregnant class teacher, Mrs Rukayat, who allegedly stripped her, caressed her chest and repeatedly penetrated her with a Biro.

All other suspects – Toluwani, the school owner, the bus driver, the headmaster and the assistant teacher – were promptly discharged. The entire case was pinned on Mrs Rukayat alone.

Despite the absence of any physical evidence, medical report linking her to the act, or corroboration, the court declared her guilty and ruled that she faces life imprisonment or a minimum of 20 years in jail.

At the time, Mrs Rukayat was pregnant again. Her doctor warned that continued court appearances could cause her to lose the baby. She stayed away temporarily on medical advice.

The case remained dormant until March 2025, when police suddenly abducted her after her lawyer allegedly informed them she had “jumped bail.” Mother and her nine-month-old baby were locked up in Kirikiri Maximum Prison for four days before she was granted bail.

Since then, the exhausted teacher has been shuttling between courts. She earns just ₦20,000 monthly. Every other party in the original allegation has been discharged. Only Mrs Rukayat remains.

She insists the only thing that can save her now is a fresh, independent forensic GBV report. Even then, she fears she may still serve between five and ten years.

The next hearing is scheduled for March 12.

Mrs Rukayat is appealing directly to the Lagos State Government to intervene in what she describes as a clear case of miscarriage of justice.

This is the story of a teacher whose only crime, it seems, was showing up to work.

Consensus As Strategy: The Political Craft Of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf

By Barrister Aminu Hussaini Sagagi

The recent peaceful Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, which produced a new Executive Committee through consensus, was not a coincidence of convenience. It was a demonstration of leadership that's deliberate, strategic and visionary.

In a political climate where party congresses too often descend into rancour, factional bitterness and courtroom battles, Kano has just offered Nigeria a masterclass in democratic maturity. At the center of this political recalibration stands His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, APC Governor of Kano State.

Consensus in Nigerian politics is often misunderstood. It is lazily dismissed as imposition or elite bargaining. But what unfolded in Kano State tells a different story. It was not the silencing of voices; it was the harmonization of interests. It was not suppression; it was statesmanship.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s leadership style has increasingly proven to be anchored in consultation rather than confrontation. In a state with deep political history and vibrant grassroots participation, achieving such a rancor-free Party Congress required more than procedural compliance, it demanded moral authority and trust capital. Both were evidently deployed by Governor Yusuf.

Political watchers know that party congresses are litmus tests. They reveal the undercurrents within a party. They expose fractures. They measure loyalty. The Kano APC Congress, instead, projected unity. Leaders and stakeholders subordinated personal ambitions to collective stability. That does not happen organically. It happens when leadership signals that cohesion is non-negotiable and fairness is guaranteed.

The Governor’s influence in fostering dialogue among elders, mobilizing party stakeholders and encouraging consensus cannot be overstated. By promoting a framework where grievances were addressed internally and agreements reached through deliberation, he elevated politics from transactional maneuvering to responsible stewardship.

More importantly, this Congress sends a message beyond party lines. It demonstrates that Kano’s political class can choose order over chaos, collaboration over conflict and institutional strength over factional dominance.

At a time when democratic processes across the country are strained by litigation and post-congress animosity, Kano has shown that political maturity is still possible. And that maturity thrives where leadership is firm, inclusive and forward-looking.

History will likely record this Congress not merely as an internal party event, but as a moment when political leadership in Kano pivoted toward stability and strategic unity. The new Executive Committee emerges not from bruising contest, but from collective endorsement; a symbolic and practical reset.

The greater test now lies ahead; translating this internal harmony into public-facing governance dividends and stronger political organization. But if the Congress is any indication, the foundation has been carefully and solidly laid.
In politics, peace is rarely accidental. In Kano, it appears intentional. And intentional peace is the signature of leadership.

Oriyomi Hamzat Apologizes to Naira Marley, Lifts Ban on Marlian Records Songs at Agidigbo FM

Popular broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat has officially tendered an apology to Nigerian singer Naira Marley, announcing that his radio station, Agidigbo FM, will once again play songs from Marlian Records after a two-year ban. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Recall that in September 2024, the broadcaster had placed a ban on all Marlian Records music following the death of Naira Marley’s former signee, Mohbad. At the time, Naira Marley and his associates were heavily accused of being involved in the singer’s tragic passing.

However, after his vindication, Oriyomi Hamzat admitted he was wrong to have judged the singer prematurely. He expressed regret over the ban and confirmed that Naira Marley’s songs, along with other Marlian Records tracks, will now be played again on Agidigbo FM.

Fans React to Apology
The broadcaster’s statement has sparked mixed reactions online:

@aderinsolaaaaaa: “I no sure say Ibadan people sabi Marlian Records like that, when e no be Qdot.”

@Ham_mayour: “Person wey kpai don go niyen, make God no allow kpai at young age.”

@therealohola: “E no go better for … wetin be the difference between him and Naira Marley?”

@citybvyy: “What about all the damages they made? They just want to start playing his songs back? Lmao.”

@hashedmystic: “What was his reason for apologizing? Matter is not mathing.”

While some applaud Hamzat for retracing his steps, others argue that the apology cannot erase the damage caused during the controversy.

2026: Despite Adeleke’s INEC Recognition, Accord Party Factional Candidate Posters Flood Osogbo, Ife, Others

The campaign posters of a factional candidate of the Accord Party in Osun State, Mr Clement Bamigbola, have surfaced in Osogbo, Ilesa, Ile-Ife, Iragbiji and many other towns.

This is despite the Independent National Electoral Commission’s recognition of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the candidate of the party for the August 15 poll.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that Adeleke on December 09, 2025, officially joined the Accord Party.

Adeleke announced his decision during a stakeholders meeting held at the Banquet hall of the Government House in the presence of national and state leaders of the Accord Party.

The day after, the governor emerged as the candidate of the party during its primary election held in Osogbo.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that after the exercise, Adeleke was declared candidate with 145 delegates’ votes.

However, four days after Governor Adeleke emerged as the governorship candidate of the Accord party, another faction of the party held its own governorship primary, where Mr Clement Bamigbola emerged as the faction’s governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election.

300 delegates of the Accord Party across Osun State elected Bamigbola as the factional party candidate during the exercise held at Regina Suite, Osogbo.

He emerged after a voice vote by the delegates and the electoral committee. Mr Olufemi Ogundare was pronounced elected as the candidate of the party for the 2026 poll.

But the camp of the governor and the factional chairman of the Accord party, Pastor Victor Akande, dismissed the primary that elected Bamigbola, noting that he was sponsored by the opposition and not a member of the party.

Also, the Independent National Electoral Commission said it was not informed of the parallel exercise that elected Bamigbola.

“We have monitored the only Accord Party primary a few days ago. The report has been submitted. INEC is not aware of any other party’s primary,” INEC Public Relations Officer in the state Mr Musa Olurode said.

Meanwhile, the poster of the factional candidate was sighted at Testing Ground, Oke Baale, Uniosun way, Ogo Oluwa, Ogo Oluwa and Ilesa Garage.
